AS-Level & Year 12

One Qualification. Two Ways It's Used.

AS-Level is sat in two different ways. In the UK, it's typically the first year of a two-year A-Level — a stepping stone. In other markets, including South Africa and New Zealand, it's taken as a complete, standalone qualification in its own right, used directly for university entry. Whichever applies to your child, the same examiner-informed, peer-learning workshops apply.

Two Ways AS-Level Is Used

Standalone qualification,
or first step. Both matter.

AS-Level isn't one thing everywhere. Depending on your country and your child's path, it's either a complete qualification used directly for university entry, or the first of two years building toward a full A-Level. We teach the same examiner-informed technique either way — but it's worth being clear on which describes your child.

Standalone qualification

In South Africa, New Zealand, and other markets, AS-Level is sat as a complete, final qualification — the result that goes on the university application. There's no second year to "make up for it."

First step toward A-Level

In the UK and similar systems, AS-Level content typically forms the first year of a two-year A-Level. A strong AS year means less time relearning fundamentals under pressure in Year 13.

Either way, no exam-week pressure

Build command-word fluency and mark-scheme understanding gradually, well before any final sitting — whichever one applies to your child.

Frequently Asked

AS-Level & Year 12 — Common Questions

Is AS-Level a final qualification, or does it lead to A-Level?
Both, depending on where your child is studying. In South Africa, New Zealand, and some other markets, AS-Level is a complete, standalone qualification used directly for university entry. In the UK and similar systems, it's typically the first year of a two-year A-Level. Either way, the workshops are the same.
Does AS-Level / Year 12 get a different, cheaper plan?
No — the same Mastery programme applies: 8 live workshops per month, single or dual subject, full access to recordings and the Discord community. There's no reduced version — the access and support are the same regardless of which path applies.
My child's AS results weren't what we hoped. What now?
If AS-Level is your child's final qualification, the result stands as-is, and the conversation is about what it means for university applications from here. If your child is continuing to a second year (A2), AS results are an early signal, not a final outcome — there's still time before the final A-Level sitting to build stronger exam technique.
Is this only for students already struggling?
No. Many AS-Level and Year 12 students join simply to build strong habits early or to give a standalone qualification the strongest possible attempt — peer learning and examiner-informed technique benefit students at every level, not only those trying to catch up.
Can my child switch from single to dual subject later?
Yes — plans can be adjusted as your child's needs change. WhatsApp us any time to discuss.
